    Would you like to own leading and driving the revenue for the future of healthcare & life sciences industry on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in China? Do you have the business savvy and technical background to help establish Amazon as a leader cloud service provider in public sector market? As a Business Development Manager you will have the exciting opportunity to help promote the growth of market penetration in Healthcare and life science verticals.
    The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the executive level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects at a high level. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions. A keen sense of ownership, self-driven, and scrappiness is a must.
    Your broad responsibilities will include developing and managing a growing book of healthcare and life science segments, such as genomic, pharma, hospital, research institutes and startups. Also include helping to define key accounts, finding strategic partners, assembling cross-functional engagement teams, and driving business and technical relationships with customers to create significant new opportunity pipelines. You will work closely with AWS Solutions Architects and AWS Professional Services teams to develop and promote cloud best-practices. And you will work closely with the AWS product and services teams to help evolve AWS offerings for more rapid account adoption while addressing issues, concerns, and requests from the field.


    Roles & Responsibilities:
    • Serve as a key member of the China Public Sector team in helping to drive AWS healthcare and life science market segment and technical strategy – propose and execute against a comprehensive account/territory plan, ensure it's in line with the AWS strategic direction.
    • Identify, engage and facilitate healthcare and life science accounts, using a solution selling approach;
    • Maintain an accurate and robust pipeline and commit to a forecast of specific business opportunities within a time period;
    • Perform the full range of activities from demand generation campaigns to pipeline management by engaging with customers, AWS internal resources, and partners.
    • Understand and exploit the use of Salesforce.com and other internal Amazon systems for campaign tracking and pipeline management.
    • Understand and navigate China Public Sector Contracting vehicles and procedures. Be a thought leader and an executive relationship builder.
    • Understand Governmental and any other related certifications. Execute the strategic business development plans while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. service teams, legal, support, etc.).
    • Identify specific prospects/partners/channels to approach while communicating the specific value proposition for their business and use case.
    • Work closely with the customer base to ensure they are successful using our web services, making sure they have the technical resources required, and documenting wins in use cases and case studies.
    • Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development team to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers.

    Basic Qualifications

    · Must have +6 years of business development and enterprise solution selling experience, with a focus on the China healthcare and life science markets;
    · Outstanding customer relationship management experience and collaboration skills;
    · Track record for exceeding quota over at least a 3 year period;
    · Strong understanding and experience working in the healthcare IT industry is highly desired, understand Biotech\Pharmaceutical\Genomic market in China;
    · Relevant technical knowledge is helpful, such as database systems, core distributed computing concepts, fundamentals of cloud computing and virtualization, storage systems etc. and familiar with industry applications;
    · Strong verbal and written communications skills in Mandarin and English are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations;
    · Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations, including strategic partners and ISVs;
    · Ability to multi-task and work many business opportunities simultaneously, also travel to customers’ locations as needed is essential.

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Visible IT Industry thought leadership on relevant topics related to enterprise cloud IT infrastructure
    · Pharmaceutical & biotech industry sales and delivery experience of contemporary services and solutions
    · Advanced degree in engineering and/or business
    · Bio-IT, Pharma-IT, Health-IT or Computer science background preferred
    · Be an excellent public speaker.
