    Amazon Development Centre South Africa is looking for passionate software developers to join us and help to solve a challenging set of problems in the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) space.

    This team is responsible for building a platform that provides customers with the ability to manage their capacity in the EC2 space. We are integral to the success of capacity management for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Our focus is to provide a scalable and stable platform upon which we can build exciting new products for our customers.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Strong customer focus
    • Experience with Java, Ruby, Perl or C/C++
    • Strong Computer Science fundamentals
    • Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving abilities
    • 4+ years of industry experience in a software development environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Core knowledge of Linux development
    • Experience with databases e.g MySQL
    • Expertise in delivering high-quality, innovative applications
    • Knowledge of system performance methodologies along with hands on empirical monitoring
    • Strong desire to build, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
    • Excellent written communication and verbal agility
