Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking talented engineers to join the EC2 Slingshot team to build the systems that allow teams to run their services at Amazon scale. Amazon EC2 provides on-demand scalable compute capacity, and powers some of the largest web services in the world. You will collaborate with a top-tier community of engineers to understand the unique needs of EC2, and build the tools and services that allow Amazon to manage a rapidly expanding global footprint.
The successful candidate will have strong software engineering experience, with a passion for automating all the things. You will have demonstrated skills in building large-scale systems, a solid understanding of the fundamentals, and the judgement to use the right tool for the job. You are forward-thinking about areas like infrastructure-as-code and immutable infrastructure. We move fast and work closely together on small teams to solve big problems.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field · 3+ years’ professional software development experience · Experience with Java, C# or other object-oriented language, and with scripting languages like Ruby or Python · Experience working in a Linux-based environment · Experience with relational and NoSQL databases · Strong customer focus, written and verbal communication skills and analytical abilities
· 5+ years’ professional software development experience, with demonstrated results building and managing large volume and high throughput distributed systems in large-scale distributed Linux environments · Technical leadership experience, and demonstrated abilities in understanding an ambiguous problem domain and working with a team to deliver robust and maintainable solutions to customers · Experience working with Amazon Web Services or other cloud provider · Experience with working with or building systems to manage infrastructure as code
