  • Job Description

We are looking for ambitious builders to join one of the world’s most innovative technology companies. If you have experience building large scale networks in China; enjoy solving deep technical, business and regulatory challenges; and thrive in a fast paced and collaborative environment this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for. As an early Internet pioneer, Amazon has built many leading technologies, and at Amazon Web Services (AWS) we made history by pioneering the cloud computing industry and offering these technologies to our customers – including Storage, Compute, and the largest suite of virtualized services (http:amazonaws.cn). From Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to Simple Storage Services (S3), our goal is to support customers and entire industries in China with their infrastructure needs. When you join the AWS Infrastructure Business Development team you can expect:
    • Large scale opportunity. AWS pioneered the cloud computing industry and is by far the global leader, but we firmly believe that the industry is still in the very early stages and that our greatest days are ahead of us. Our hyper scale and hyper growth present unparalleled opportunities for individuals on our team to grow, learn and be challenged in ways that are unique to AWS.
    • Big impact. Amazon is built around a culture of success in solving the world’s most challenging problems and executing the biggest opportunities. When you join the AWS infrastructure team, you don’t follow the industry standards, you define them. We play a crucial role in the development of new technologies, products, and entire industries. We are critical in defining strategic roadmaps, application architecture, application development and business development. Our team is filled with people who are more than infrastructure leaders, they are global business leaders.
    • Best team. To tackle the largest opportunities and to have the biggest impact, you have to surround yourself with the smartest and most capable people. Amazon is built on the principle of finding the best people and empowering them with resources and opportunities to change the world around them. We challenge ourselves and each other to be bigger, better and faster for our customers. If you have great ideas and ambitions to be the best, Amazon is the place for you.
The AWS Internet Infrastructure team is responsible for the strategy, acquisition, implementation, and maintenance of relationships with strategic suppliers and partners to expand and grow AWS. This includes finding optimal solutions to Amazon's ongoing needs for data center capacity; working closely with network carriers to obtain capacity for expansion and growth of Amazon's China network; and meeting the operational sourcing requirements for new products, services, and initiatives prior to launch. By applying a unique blend of business and technology experience, you will work closely with both outside parties and internal teams to find creative, cost effective, and often unusual solutions to meet Amazon's ongoing growth and expansion needs worldwide.
This candidate will play a senior role in managing network activities in close coordination with other team members and external parties. This individual will manage peering and transit relationships with both external parties and will work closely with internal teams to ensure that peering and transit connections are managed in a timely and effective manner. This role is suited for someone who is excited by rapid growth and is willing to chart new territories and define new processes.
