So we developed the Returning Professionals Program (RPP). The RPP is our commitment to finding strong technology professionals and supporting them return to their professional career journey. But it can be hard – technology is moving at such a fast pace, that a couple of years out of the profession mean candidates may not be on top of latest technologies or accreditations. The RPP recognises this and is created to support IT professionals to get back on track quickly with a paid, 6-month intensive program where you will have a mentor throughout. The RPP is comprised of tailored training, hands-on application, and shadowing of seasoned consultants in the field. At the end of the program, you will have the opportunity to apply for a full time role at AWS.
Returning Professionals Program
At AWS, we’re looking for IT professionals who have had 2+ years break in their career but are ready to return to work at one of the most high-growth and transformational companies around, and in one of the most exciting roles, AWS Professional Services, where we are helping the largest enterprises in Asia Pacific use Cloud technology to transform their businesses from top to bottom.Who Should Apply?
We are looking for professionals who spent between 10+ years in Information Technology or Enterprise Consulting, but then decided to take some years off work to focus on other pursuits. Today, these professionals are looking to return to IT or Consulting. We are offering these individuals a hands-on reintroduction program that includes core training, practical shadowing assignments, and technical-skills refresh initially on a 6-month fixed-term contract basis with a view to considering the individual for a full-time role at the end of the program.
What Will You Do?
AWS Professional Services, is made up primarily of Cloud Architect consultants
. These are technical professionals who help our customers define and execute an enterprise and solution architecture. The full time role for which graduates from this program would be eligible to apply, is defined by a formal Job Description that can be found online at https://www.amazon.jobs/en/teams/professional-services
Successful candidates hired initially on a fixed-term 6-month contract will complete a 3-month onboarding program that involves classroom and online training and in-the-field shadowing assignments with senior consultants. This will be followed by a 3-month check-ride program through which the candidate will lead
1 or 2 engagements with support from a program mentor and deliver a presentation on their project and outcomes. Candidates will graduate the program after 6 months and can apply to be considered for a full-time role with AWS.

We are looking for candidates who are absolutely obsessed about customers, business transformation, and how AWS can play a pivotal role in helping enterprises remake themselves for the future. Because AWS Professional Services works with the largest enterprises around the world, we are also looking for someone with strong consulting capabilities such as executive presence, listening and creative thinking, strong written and spoken communication, problem-solving and an experience-earned intuition about how large enterprises change and transform, and what can stall them.
We are also looking for candidates who will be a good culture fit for AWS. Candidates are encouraged to read the Amazon Leadership Principles
and think deeply about whether they are personally aligned to these values.
We appreciate that you likely would not have hands-on experience with Cloud technologies, but you should be able to demonstrate how, through your working experience and/or formal education, you have a sound understanding of one or more IT disciplines, have a good experience-earned intuition about business technology, and both love, and are exceptional at, learning new stuff quickly.
Finally, successful candidates will be serious about joining AWS. We intend to invest heavily in you as we know after a long break, you’ll need special, focused attention, and time.
