    The Alexa Shopping team is looking for applied researchers to help Alexa turn into the best personal shopping assistant.

    Positions are open both in Haifa and in the Tel Aviv area.

    As an applied researcher in the Alexa Shopping science team, you will be responsible for the research, design and development of new natural language, search, and machine learning technologies for voice shopping. You will be working with top scientists and engineers, as well as with product teams and other research partners, both locally and abroad. Your work will combine data mining, systems and software development, exploration of new technologies, as well as publications and presentations at top scientific conferences.

    The ideal candidate has deep expertise in one or several of the following fields: Web search, Web data mining, Applied/Theoretical Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence. S/he has technical experience and is hands-on. S/he has a publication record at top relevant academic venues. S/he also shows good intuition with personal assistants’ technologies and customers’ needs. Previous experience in launching data-driven products/features in the industry is a plus.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, or related field.
    • Software engineering expertise. Proficiency with programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or Python.
    • Publication record at first tier computer science venues – a must.
    • Publications at top Web/ML/Search academic conferences such as ACL, AAAI, KDD, SIGIR, WSDM, WWW, etc. are a significant added value.
    • Excellent written and verbal English skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • PhD degree in Computer Science
    • Industrial/academic experience in building search, applied ML or AI features/products/systems
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills
