The Amazon Kindle team is seeking a Risk Management Coordinator for our Kindle Books Self-Publishing Operation. This is an exciting opportunity to work on highly visible projects and be part of history in the making!

The Risk Management Coordinator will:
  • Evaluate content appropriateness compliance for books submitted through's Kindle Direct Publishing.
  • Effectively prioritize work time to ensure productivity and fulfill team standards for time spent in order to consistently achieve service levels.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate process redundancy.
  • Leverage technology and innovation to bring continuous improvement to the operational processes.
  • Work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Candidates will be responsible for ensuring program compliance by conducting research to minimize risk to the Kindle Store.

In addition to all that is already expected in the coordinator role, the candidate must:
  • Serve as a role model by displaying good judgment, a positive work ethic, strong interpersonal skills and adherence to company policies
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills. Proactive communication with local and remote operational teams as well as the overall business team is a must.
  • Exhibit a high degree of process ownership.
  • Perform quantitative analysis of key process indicators to continuously identify process improvement opportunities and drive their implementation.
  • Deal well with ambiguity, providing recommendations and proposals to establish new processes and further standardize existing ones.

Basic Qualifications

· Fluency in Arabic (advance in speaking, reading and writing)
· Maturity and ability to review explicit adult content from a clinical perspective. This includes nudity, strong language, etc.
· Ability to work on weekends.
· A passion for reading
· Strong oral and written communication skills in English
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to deal well with ambiguity
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills and an ability to think creatively
· Exceptional level of organizational skills.
· Strong team leadership skills
· Willingness to challenge status quo
· Must be able to think creatively and possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Experience in identifying opportunities to simplify and/or automate complex processes

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:
· Experience in digital media and knowledge of the publishing industry
· Experience working in startup and/or internet technologies
· Strong technical and analytical aptitude, including some knowledge of statistics.
· Strong data analysis tools, using MS excel and similar software
  • German, French, Italian or Japanese as a second language preferred.
