    Case Management! We connect customers needing help to engineers who can help them. From logging cases through to tooling to assist support engineers help our customers. All customers of AWS will use your work to get support. Amazon AWS is a fast paced dynamic environment where you’ll be working with the best minds in the industry and deploying to a global platform.

    We build on AWS technologies (i.e. DynamoDB, S3, existing services) and use predominantly Java, JavaScript & Groovy. We run our processes using Agile/Scrum for development work and Kanban for ops. The role involves a development and operational component. The office environment is very informal work in shorts with flip flops, sitting on a bean bag or get a standing desk. We have flexi-working hours and team members often work from home.

We provide developers and their organizations with building block web services that allow them to innovate faster and to operate their software more cost-effectively. These services-in-the-cloud include on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, querying of structured data, message queuing, and more.

    We have a need for a software development engineer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This individual will have the responsibility to:
    • Develop software services that are designed to adapt to the evolving businesses of Amazon while improving customer experience, as well as the quality and productivity of our operations teams.
    • Develop on a platform that will provide the opportunity to contribute to the complete vertical stack of an SOA based system, which is horizontally connected to most systems in the larger Amazon ecosystem. Areas include business intelligence, web service implementation, web based applications, UI design and usability and accessibility optimization.
    • Build relationships with existing and potential internal customers to understand their individual requirements and demonstrate how products can add value to their business.
    • Developers in this position will use a variety of mainstream and open source technologies like Java, C++, Linux, Perl, Javascript, as well as in-house Amazon technologies.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
    • The technical skills required for this role include 2+ years of strong object-oriented design and programming in Java, C# or C++.
    • Understanding and experience with web based technologies is essential. These may include HTML, HTTP, JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, Apache, tomcat

    Preferred Qualifications

    • System design
    • Experience working pragmatically under deadlines with operational software is highly desired.
