Job Description

Amazon is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Payroll Manager to join the fast-paced world of Payroll. We are not an average retailer and this is definitely not your average payroll position reporting in through Amazon Finance Operations. We’ll give you the opportunity to really make a difference to our business. We’re looking for exceptional people with outstanding auditing skills, problem solving skills, payroll process combined with payroll system knowledge, people management experience and customer service passion.

Position Responsibilities:

· Payroll Management Experience
· Process payroll utilizing ADP/Exactus or similar payroll software
· Light project management
· Audit payroll related data
· Proven ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions
· Ability to create and implement innovative processes for payroll
· Produce timely responses to employee inquiries
· Record wage related transactions as needed. Demonstrate the aptitude to audit for quality, and analyze for root cause
· Demonstrate the bias for action to take calculated risks
· Earn and develop the trust of others to challenge and improve processes and procedures
· Performance management

Basic Qualifications

· People Manager experience
· University bachelor’s degree or 4-5 years of equivalent experience
· Management experience of a small team (Minimum 3 direct reports)
· 2+ years of relevant experience in payroll or related finance fields
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
· Customer focus and professional demeanor
· Intermediate to advanced experience with Excel and Outlook
· The ability to multitask and self-motivate
· Ability to meet tight deadlines and efficiently interact with various groups across the company
· Coordinate with other Payroll stakeholders (HR, Benefits, Compensations, Operations, Accounting, AP, AR)

Preferred Qualifications

· A background in Payroll Processing and Analysis
· Evidence of stretch assignments that reflect superior performance in previous roles
· Proven experience with process improvement creation and implementation
· Proven experience delivering a high level of customer service
· Project Management experience
· Interest in learning about systems
